About Us
Welcome to Vancouver Odias. This page will help you understand our background, mission, vision, and values. We aim to connect with people from the province of Odisha in India who are new to Canada, providing a community and a cultural anchor as they settle in.

Our story
The Vancouver Odia Cultural Association (VOCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Odisha, India, within the Canadian multicultural landscape. Based in British Columbia, VOCA brings together Odia families and individuals who share a common bond with their roots in Odisha while embracing the values of Canadian society.
Our mission is to ensure that future generations remain connected to their Odia identity through language, art, dance, literature, and traditions, while fostering pride, inclusivity, and cultural awareness. From organizing cultural festivals, community gatherings, and educational initiatives to collaborating with Canadian cultural hubs and other communities, VOCA is committed to building bridges of friendship and understanding.

Our values
We believe in mutual respect, inclusivity, and cultural harmony. Guided by these values, we strive to create a welcoming space where Odia culture thrives alongside Canada’s diverse multicultural mosaic.
Together, we celebrate our past, honor our traditions, and inspire future generations to carry forward the timeless spirit of Odisha—rooted in heritage, flourishing in Canada.

Our Vision
Vancouver Odias is more than just a non-profit; it's a place to keep our ancestry, culture, traditions, art, and language alive and pass them on to new generations.
We strive to be a thriving and inclusive Odia cultural hub in British Columbia that inspires pride in our art, heritage, connects generations, and builds bridges of friendship and understanding within the broader Canadian multicultural landscape.
